Vizsla Dog Breed

The Vizsla is a Hunting Dog Breed that was bred in Hungary for the purpose of trailing and pointing. They are also called the Hungarian Pointer

Personality and Attitude

These pointers are affectionate, sensitive and can have a protective streak. Generally they are friendly towards strangers and other dogs if well socialized (otherwise the protective streak will be more apparent)

This is an energetic dog that requires a good workout every day. Otherwise they may become destructive and more stubborn

Size and appearance

They are a medium size dog breed standing 21 to 24 inches tall and weighing 45 to 65 pounds.

They have a short coat that lies flat and are a golden rust color. Overall they have an athletic, lean build

Health and Lifespan

They have very few health concerns but have been known to suffer epilepsy and hip dysplasia.

In general this breed will live 10 to 14 years
